The Sunday Sailing Series is a 3-race series that occurs in August, September and October. The race starts in the main channel and extends out into the ocean to either the Balboa Pier or the Newport Pier. When wind conditions permit, it gives sailors an opportunity to fly their spinnakers. South Shore Yacht Club Summer Hibachi Series Start in June 2023 The SSYC Summer Hibachi Raceing Series begins on the first Wednesday in June (subject to coronovirus restrictions) and continues every Wednesday through the month of August. A prequel to the Newport-to-Ensenada race is the cooperative race organized by South Shore Yacht and Dana Point Yacht Club.
